Giving Back

Giving back to help a community

When you support our business and make an online purchase, it allows us to give back and support a whole community.ย

See how we are helping........

For every online order we receive, we will plant a mangrove tree seedling on the foreshore in Korotogo Village in Fiji.

Mangroves are a vital part of the ecosystem by providing a safe haven for young sea creatures, plus, they are essential in reducing coastal erosion from strong waves and storm surges.

Pottery for Mangroves

This year we travelled to Korotogo Village Fiji again to carry out our annual mangrove planting. This initiative is only made possible thanks to your incredible support with our online orders and our new Pottery for Mangrove collection.

Our inspiration started here and together we are helping restore coastlines, one mangrove seedling at a time.

Thank you!

Mangrove Planting

We feel very privileged to be able to take time to plant some mangrove seedlings to help with coastal erosion in Korotogo Village recently. Planted at low tide directly into the sand, the seedlings don't take long to take hold.

Mangroves are vital in protecting the coastline from tidal erosion. They cushion the force of raging waves along the coastal forshore. The roots of mangrove trees help keep the water clean and provide fish and other sea life with an ideal environment for laying their eggs and raising their young. Just like any other forests, mangrove forests inhale carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen back into the air.

Thank you Korotogo Village for letting us be a part of this project.

Raising the Roof

I recently attended Korotogo Methodist Church Maintenance Project Fundraising Breakfast put on by the entire village to raise money to replace the Church roof. Set up under a huge red tent,

each household within the village provided part of the breakfast with an array of local fruit, muffins, traditional curry dishes, rice, tea and coffee. The goal was to raise $20K from the sale of tickets and with the help of locals, guests, and people from surrounding villages, they raised enough to get a new roof! This was an amazing morning and thank you for allowing us to be a part of such an important breakfast.
