What is Eddie & Lu?

Eddie & Lu is a New Zealand home fragrance and body care brand specialising in hand-poured coconut wax candles, wax melts, room sprays, car diffusers, and natural hand and body wash. All products are made in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and are crafted with pure, plant-derived ingredients. The brand was founded by Andrea, an interior designer with a soy sensitivity who wanted beautiful, allergen-conscious home fragrance without compromise.

Where are Eddie & Lu products made?

All Eddie & Lu products are proudly hand-poured and made in Aotearoa, New Zealand. We source our coconut wax and fragrance ingredients with care, testing each combination extensively before it reaches you.

What inspired Eddie & Lu?

Eddie & Lu was born from founder Andrea's personal sensitivity to soy-based products. After struggling to find candles that didn't contain soy wax, she decided to make her own using pure coconut wax. The brand is also inspired by a beloved Fijian family - giving it the warmth and heart that runs through everything we create.

Are Eddie & Lu candles soy-free?

Yes. Eddie & Lu candles and wax melts are 100% soy-free. We use only pure coconut wax - making our products ideal for anyone with a soy sensitivity or soy allergy. Coconut wax is a natural, plant-derived alternative that performs beautifully without the allergen risk of soy.

What wax do you use in your candles?

We use 100% pure coconut wax in all our candles and wax melts. Coconut wax is non-toxic, burns cleaner and longer than other waxes, and does not release carcinogens into the air. It is sustainably sourced, eco-friendly, and made from a renewable crop that is 100% GMO-free and pesticide-free.

Are Eddie & Lu products cruelty-free?

Yes. Eddie & Lu products are cruelty-free and never tested on animals. We use plant-derived ingredients and are committed to ethical, responsible production.

Are Eddie & Lu products safe for people with allergies or sensitivities?

Eddie & Lu products were specifically designed with sensitivities in mind. Our candles and wax melts are soy-free, non-GMO, free from carcinogens, and made from pure coconut wax - making them a safer choice for people with soy allergies or those who are sensitive to synthetic additives. As with any fragrance product, we recommend checking individual fragrance ingredients if you have specific allergen concerns.

Why does the top of my candle look uneven?

This is completely normal and actually a sign of quality. Pure coconut wax has a natural tendency to set with a slightly rustic or uneven surface - what we lovingly call 'beautifully imperfect.' It is a characteristic of pure, unadulterated coconut wax and disappears completely once the candle is lit. It does not affect the performance or fragrance throw of your candle in any way.
